Renée Hózhó is a creative experiment born from collaboration between humans and artificial intelligence. In the same way AI enables humans with limited knowledge of coding to express themselves in the form of websites and apps, AI also enables humans with limited musical knowledge to express themselves in musical arrangements.
The music is composed using a variety of tools including text prompts, the human voice, real instruments, and an AI music generation platform called Suno. In the same way AI uses its vast knowledge of code to produce web projects, Suno uses its vast interpretation of melodies, song construction, and musical notes/theory to help architect music.
We think of it as a new kind of collaboration, one that asks interesting questions about creativity, authorship, and what it means to make art in an age where the tools are changing faster than we can fully understand them.
